Anthony Smit
Anthony has held senior executive roles including Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for business wide strategy, technology strategy, information security, governance, and regulatory compliance across complex, regulated environments. Most notably, he served as CIO of Adams & Adams, Webber Wentzel, and Capricorn Capital Partners, where he led enterprise-wide technology modernisation initiatives and strengthened governance, risk, and compliance capabilities in support of business growth and operational resilience.
Through Tandem CIO, Anthony provides fractional and managed leadership services to businesses that require senior technology leadership without the cost and rigidity of a full-time executive. His approach combines executive oversight with platform-led delivery models to operationalise governance, risk, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001 in a scalable, repeatable manner.
Anthony’s focus is on building commercially sustainable technology operating models that reduce risk, improve audit readiness, and enable growth. By leveraging automation and managed services, Tandem CIO delivers predictable outcomes while maintaining a low-overhead, high-leverage delivery model well suited to small and mid-market organisations.
He holds a BCom Honours degree from the University of South Africa and has completed executive development in leadership, project management, and technology governance. Anthony engages actively with senior technology leaders and partners on topics including compliance automation, governance maturity, and the evolving role of the CIO in growth-focused organisations.

anelle stander
Anelle Stander is a Support Analyst at Tandem CIO with extensive experience in operations management, financial administration, and compliance support. She applies a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to supporting managed governance, risk, and compliance programmes for Tandem CIO clients.
Most recently, Anelle served as a Data Protection Analyst at Casimba Gaming, where she supported the organisation’s data protection and compliance obligations within a regulated online gaming environment. Her responsibilities included assisting with data protection processes, internal compliance monitoring, documentation support, and acting as a coordination point for data protection–related matters.
In her role at Tandem CIO, Anelle supports the ongoing operation of client compliance programmes, including documentation management, evidence coordination, control tracking, and internal process support. Her background across compliance, operations, and regulated business environments enables her to contribute to sustainable, audit-ready compliance outcomes.
Anelle is valued for her reliability, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities within long-term managed service engagements.
